King Soopers Honorary Hero of the Game
Nuggets' Historic Night Caps Off with a Special Surprise
Recognition for a Real-Life Hero
The Denver Nuggets' historic 134-111 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves was made even more special with the recognition of King Soopers employee Daniel "Danny" Scott as the Honorary Hero of the Game.
Scott was working at the King Soopers grocery store in Boulder, Colorado, on March 22, 2021, when a gunman opened fire, killing 10 people. Scott acted heroically, leading customers to safety and helping to disarm the shooter.
As a token of appreciation, the Nuggets presented Scott with a commemorative jersey and a $10,000 donation to the King Soopers Employee Relief Fund. Scott was also given a standing ovation by the crowd at Ball Arena.
Scott's recognition is a reminder of the real-life heroes who make a difference in our communities every day. His bravery and selflessness during a tragic event serve as an inspiration to us all.
In the Nuggets' victory, Nikola Jokic recorded a triple-double with 25 points, 15 rebounds, and 10 assists. Jamal Murray added 24 points, and Michael Porter Jr. contributed 20 points. The Timberwolves were led by Karl-Anthony Towns, who had 26 points and 10 rebounds.
