With deep sorrow, we report the tragic passing of Angel Hernandez, a 16-year-old sophomore athlete from Chisholm Trail High School in Fort Worth, Texas. On Friday, October 13th, while competing in a 5K district cross-country meet at Haltom City, Hernandez collapsed shortly after crossing the finish line.
According to authorities, Hernandez had just achieved a personal best time in the race. However, moments later, he fell to the ground and became unresponsive. Despite immediate medical attention from paramedics and hospital staff, Hernandez passed away from his injuries.
The Chisholm Trail school community is devastated by the sudden loss of their beloved student-athlete. Hernandez was an active and dedicated member of the cross-country team, known for his hard work, determination, and positive spirit.
